Why not become a Volunteer at the Lassie Animal Shelter?

.....new friends |
We have been on Langkawi for just over 6 months now and are still loving it. When we left Europe a lot of people asked: "What do you intend to do every day?" Until now we have been busy sorting our new life out, i.e. find a place to live, where is what on Langkawi, getting a feel for the Island in general. We always said we could imagine doing some volunteer work, but had no idea what it could be. When we read an article about the
LASSie Animal Shelter near Cenang beach we thought it could be something worth looking into.

"Come on, adopt me" (just one of many cats at the shelter) |
So next day we set off to ´just have a look` and straight away ended up taking some dogs out for a walk (or they took us, not sure) which we enjoyed and have been doing volunteer work now for two weeks and intend to carry on. The Shelter is a necessary institution (non profit) on the Island and are doing a lot for injured, neglected or abused animals
(details here) but this is not all as there is an animal clinic on the grounds too, run by
Dr. Timothy Lim, aka Dr.Tim who is doing a great job.

The Shelter near the Bon Ton Resort |
The Animal Shelter was founded by the Bon Ton Resort and you can read all about it
here.
Taking the dogs for a walk is really important, so they get out of their kennels, but we think they just as much love to have some human company who entertain and play with them.
